Eppendorf Centrifuge 5702 family of low-speed, general-purpose centrifuges was specially designed to meet the requirement of low- to mid-throughput clinical research and cell culture labs.
Centrifuge 5702 is compact in design so that one can fit comfortably on every lab bench, operate quietly to benefit your work environment, and provide six different rotor options to accommodate any tube.
Eppendorf Centrifuge 5702 Features
- Max. speed: 3,000 × g (4,400 rpm)
- Very compact footprint to fit on every lab bench
- Very quiet operation to benefit your environment
- Low access height for simple loading and unloading of samples
- SOFT brake function for slow acceleration and braking. Optimized for cell separation by gradient centrifugation
- The “At set RPM” function starts the timer when the selected rotational speed is reached for reproducible centrifugation runs
- Key lock to prevent unintentional adjustments
- The stainless steel rotor chamber is rust-free and easy to clean
- Electronic imbalance detection for maximum safety
Special features for Centrifuge 5702 R and Centrifuge 5702 RH:
- Temperature settings from -9 °C to 40 °C
- FastTemp function for fast precooling
- Continuous cooling maintains a constant temperature after completing the run – your samples stay cool.
- ECO shut-off engages after 8 hours of non-use to reduce energy consumption and extend compressor life
- Two program keys to store routine programs
- Active heating guarantees high-temperature accuracy during the entire centrifugation cycle (only 5702 RH)
Rotor Package Options:
- Without Rotor (rotor will need to be purchased separately – see “Accessories” section below.
- With 4 x 100 mL swing-out rotor – includes rotor A-4-38 (does not include buckets or adapters)
- Rotor & buckets for 13/16 ml blood collection tubes – includes rotor A-4-38 with buckets & adapters for 13/16 mm blood collection tubes (two full sets of adapters – one for 13 mm blood tubes, one for 16 mm blood tubes).
- Rotor & buckets for 15/50 ml centrifuge tubes – includes rotor A-4-38 with buckets & adapters for 15/50 mm centrifuge tubes (two full sets of adapters – one for 15 ml tubes, one for 50 ml tubes).
Applications
- Centrifuge 5702 for standard applications
- Refrigerated Centrifuge 5702 R for heat-sensitive samples
- Heated and refrigerated Centrifuge 5702 RH allows centrifugation to improve cell viability for more accurate results in downstream applications
Temperature management
Choose the right model to meet your temperature requirements:
- Centrifuge 5702 – optimized airflow minimizes sample warming during the run
- Centrifuge 5702 R/RH – FastTemp function for fast pre-cooling
- Centrifuge 5702 RH only – active heating guarantees high-temperature accuracy during the entire centrifugation cycle
- Centrifuge 5702 R/RH – reduced energy consumption and extended compressor life thanks to the ECO shut-off that engages after a period of inactivity
Safety management
The 5702 families of low-speed centrifuges come with an easy-to-clean stainless steel rotor chamber. Automatic centrifuge rotor recognition and imbalance detection ensure operational safety, and a key lock prevents accidental parameter changes. Optional aerosol-tight caps are ready to use when working with hazardous samples.

Adapters for conical 15/50-mL vessels, rotary knob, 230 V / 50 – 60 Hz The universal low-speed centrifugal family 5702 has been specially designed for cell culture laboratories and Clinical research labs with low to medium throughput. Thanks to their compact design, these centrifuges fit almost every laboratory table, and their quiet operation improves their working environment.
Centrifuge 5702 can be operated with six different rotor options for recording almost all vessels. The right model for your application: Centrifuge 5702 for standard applications Centrifuge 5702 R refrigerated model for heat-sensitive samples.
The Centrifuge 5702 RH cooled and heated model allows centrifugation in the molecular biology range, improves the viability of the cells, and thus achieves more accurate results in subsequent applications (e.g., In cell cultivation). Maximum capacity for conical vessels per rotor: 8 × 15 mL / 4 × 50 mL
